About Us

OUR Mission

To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fremont County achieves that mission by providing:
  • A safe place to learn and grow
  • Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals
  • Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences
  •  Hope and opportunity

Why we exist

In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.

Boys & Girls Club of Fremont County offers that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day.

how we help

While youth are at the Club, they engage in outcome-oriented, evidence-based programs focused on three key areas:
  • Academic success
  • Character and leadership
  • Healthy lifestyles
Members also develop positive relationships with caring adult role models. And perhaps most importantly, they have fun.

We provide a snack each day at both clubs as well as a dinner meal at our Cañon City club.  We adhere to CACFP standards.

Additionally, our Cañon City location offers transportation from the schools to the Club every day. Give us a call to find out when and where we pick-up at your school.

Our history

We opened our doors in June of 2011, with 8 middle school students.  By the end of the year we expanded to high schoolers, due to demand, and had 113 total members.  Our Cañon City club continues to grow its programs and membership. We currently have over 200 members at The Club and our programs include serving snack and dinner daily.
The Florence Club was opened in the fall of 2015 and is adjoined to Fremont Middle School.  It is open Monday through Thursday, 3:30 pm to 7 pm and on Fridays noon- 5:00 pm.  The Florence Club continues to grow and also serves a free snack daily.
